What exactly is the Beginner Solar Blueprint?
The Blueprint is a field-grade specification document for homeowners building off-grid solar systems. It covers the complete build sequence from load calculation to commissioning sign-off — with every formula, table, and protocol sourced to a manufacturer datasheet or NEC standard.
It is not a video course, a buying guide, or a general overview. It is the documentation a professional produces before an installation begins, formatted for the owner-builder.
Is this for grid-tied solar?
No. The Blueprint covers off-grid and backup power systems only — battery bank, charge controller, inverter, and array. It does not cover grid interconnection, net metering, anti-islanding, or utility agreements. If you are building a grid-tied system, this document is not the right resource.
Do I need electrical experience to use the Blueprint?
No. The Blueprint was written for the homeowner who is starting from close to zero — not for electricians. Every formula is explained before it is applied. Every technical term is defined when it first appears. If you can read a specification sheet and follow a calculation step by step, you can use this document.
That said, the Blueprint does not simplify the math or skip steps to make it feel easier. If a calculation has four variables, all four variables are in the document. The goal is a correctly specified system — not a shortcut.
What is the 30-Day Guarantee?
If you complete the Blueprint and your system sizing math does not hold up on paper, we will refund you in full. No questions. You keep the file.
To request a refund, contact support@beginnersolar.com with your order number within 30 days of purchase. We ask one thing: tell us specifically what the document failed to deliver. That feedback improves the documentation for every builder who comes after you.
How do I access my download after purchase?
You will receive an email from Beginner Solar within a few minutes of purchase with a download link for your file. The email comes from our delivery system — search your inbox for “Beginner Solar” if you do not see it within 10 minutes.
If the email has not arrived after 10 minutes, check your spam folder. If it is not there either, contact support@beginnersolar.com with your order number and we will get it to you directly.
I bought the Blueprint. What should I do first?
Start with the Load Architect Calculator at BeginnerSolar.com before you open the Blueprint. Run your appliance load calculation first — it takes about 10 minutes and produces the three numbers (daily watt-hours, peak continuous watts, peak surge watts) that every subsequent sizing decision in the Blueprint builds from.
Once you have those numbers, work through the Blueprint in order. It is written in installation sequence — load calculation to commissioning. Do not skip ahead.
What is the difference between the Blueprint and the Solar Commissioning Toolkit?
The Blueprint is the specification document — the calculations, protocols, and technical reference you work through during system design.
The Toolkit is the field documentation — the printed forms you use during and after installation. It includes the 50-Point Commissioning Checklist, Wire Gauge and Ampacity Table, Battery Maintenance Log, and Bill of Materials Template.
The Blueprint tells you how to build it correctly. The Toolkit is what you fill out to prove you did.
The Toolkit is available as an order bump at checkout when you purchase the Blueprint ($15). It can also be purchased separately at BeginnerSolar.com/products/solar-commissioning-toolkit.
Is the Beginner Solar Masterclass available?
Not yet. The Masterclass is a six-module video course covering the complete technical education behind the Blueprint — the reasoning behind every specification, not just the specification itself.
When it launches, it will be available to existing Blueprint and Toolkit customers first via email. If you want to be notified when it is available, make sure your email is in the system — either through a Blueprint purchase or through the free Load Calculator at BeginnerSolar.com.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — see the 30-Day Guarantee above. If the Blueprint does not deliver what is described on the product page, contact support@beginnersolar.com within 30 days of purchase with your order number. Full refund, no questions.
Because this is a digital product with immediate delivery, we do ask that you have actually opened and reviewed the document before requesting a refund. “I changed my mind” is not covered by the guarantee — but “this did not do what it said it would” is.
